How Far Will Climate Change Affect Future Food Security? An Inquiry into the Irrigated Rice System of Peninsular India

Climate change poses a great challenge to food security, particularly in developing nations where important crops such as rice and wheat have been grown large quantities. The study investigates security using an integrated approach, which comprises forecasting future production the AquaCrop model demand for economic model. proposed approach was evaluated Cauvery delta zone eastern part of Tamil Nadu, is major rice-growing hotspot peninsular India. Our results showed that productivity region would be reduced by 35% between 2021 2040 16% 2041 2050.
